    Nosferatu  (1922)

This is one of my favorite silent scary movies.  I can just imagine audiences back in the early 20's screaming in horror as the shadow of Nosferatu comes into the room.  It was a great movie and even more interesting when you hear stories about the main character.  He is very much a CHARACTER.  I really love how the director played with darkness and light in filming.  This is always what I thought a TRUE vampire should look like, I don't think I really saw this again until Salem's Lot in the late 70s.

    Old Yeller  (1957)

I will never forget this movie and really don't think I can ever watch it again.  It was an excellent movie but it brings up so much sadness when I was little.  About that same time, I saw my dog get hit by a car.  I think it scared me for life.  Then after I saw THIS movie, I was pretty inconsolable for quite a while.  It was very sad.  I loved it on the TV show Friends when Phoebe never knew what happened to Old Yeller because her mom or Grandma used to turn it off right before the ending.  It was funny, years later, when she watched it and found out what happened.  My mom tried to do that with me for a while.  But I finally saw it and cried for days.  Anyway, it's a good but sad movie...
