    Cop Game  (1988)

Directed by Bruno Mattei in 1988.

Wow, this is one for the books, really. Huff and Laurel play investigators on a case involving military officials that are being murdered by an elite group of commando assassins. Eventually they find themselves mixed up in a massive conspiracy as well as getting caught in the middle of out and out war on the front lines of Vietnam! There was some talk about drugs and terrorism also, but mostly things just get blown up! Have you ever found yourself in emotional turmoil over what kind of movie to watch? Torn between your desire for fierce action and laugh out loud comedy? Well then, Cop Game is here to solve that problem for you! Lots of recycled footage and a pretty impressive body count are on display. Mix that in with Vietnamese go-go dancers aiming their silly choreography right at the camera and some of the most hilarious dialogue ever recorded on film and you’ve got a good time waiting to happen! And man, that theme song! Huff delivers nearly all of his lines in a way that makes you wonder if someone on the set insulted his mother right before every scene! You just won’t believe this one… Get some friends together and enjoy this uncut widescreen print.

    Covert Action  (1988)

Actually directed and filmed in 1978 (not 1988).

Janssen is an ex-C.I.A. agent who now makes his living as a writer. His first book, a nonfiction piece, managed to make his former employers very uncomfortable, his next two books were fiction and they flopped. So, now he is in Athens, supposedly on vacation, but it also happens to be a place where he ‘worked’ quite often. Also, there are rumors that he is working on another book, something like the first one. This makes the local representatives of ‘the department’ very nervous. Even worse, a friend of Janssen’s (played by Merli) has a tape, referred to as “dynamite” at one point, containing information that would be damaging to a lot of people. Regardless of what’s recorded on that tape Janssen is the one who finds himself eyeball deep in trouble (taking the ever-beautiful Clery along with him) and before it’s all over you’ll experience some mean-spirited violence, car-chases, and no small amount of ass kicking! A great movie with yet another fantastic soundtrack provided by Stelvio Cipriani. Forget the washed out Greek prints, forget the fullscreen (and scratchy) Japanese release, enjoy this uncut widescreen print.

    Cross Mission  (1989)

Where to begin? You’ll hear some familiar sounds, see some familiar locations, and witness some laugh-riot blunders, but we at Digital Conquest understand what so few do about these late eighties action titles, when you are in the mood for something like this… NOTHING else will do. Nothing! Having said that… The staggeringly beautiful Porsche stars as a frustrated (and extremely capable) reporter trying to get close to a general who has, in the name of the United Nations, recently led an operation to destroy massive drug crops in the local jungles. The problem is that the general is working his own angle and figures that the U.N. will now get off his back so he can be left alone to tend to the larger crops! He has a partner (Randall) who represents ‘important people’ and together they plan to make a lot of money. The reporter (Helen) and the partner (William) find each other and after Will spends some time seeing the violent injustices brought on by the general and his greedy, tyrannical rule, decides to fight the good fight with his new love interest! After the death of an innocent young girl, Helen and Will join up with freedom fighting rebels to find a secret prison camp, free their friends, and serve the general’s head to the people! Thick with fiery explosions and large-scale gun battles, you’ll probably remember this movie best for one reason alone. It’s Nelson De La Rosa! The little guy from Ratman himself! He shows up in the final acts to… This cameo provides one of the best, most jaw-dropping and out of nowhere “what the…??!!” moments that we can remember so we won’t ruin it here, but man, it’s definitely something special!

  • CY WARRIOR - Uncut & Widescreen

Was this review helpful? [Be the first to tell us!]

Man oh man! Here it comes! This is a biggie for all fans of Italian super-cheese! A little Universal Soldier crossed with The Terminator by way of Short Circuit; wrap your mind around that! Without a doubt this will be a very rich and rewarding experience for bad-film aficionados! Zagarino portrays the Cy Warrior! A top secret government project, the Cy Warrior is accidentally activated while being transported from somewhere important to somewhere else important. Henry Silva is Hammer, the psychopath charged with the task of bringing the C.W. back in. The problem is that he doesn’t want to bring it back, he wants to destroy it! Why? Who knows, but with each passing line of dialogue spoken by Silva you’ll be more and more convinced that he is suffering from turrets syndrome! Our android hero eventually finds friends that want so very much to help him in the form of Susan (the very beautiful Sherrie Rose) and her little brother Brandon. And Susan is also the romantic interest! Yep, once you go steel you’ll never go real… or something… Anyway, Silva and his crack squad of robot hunting commandos manage to kill an awful lot of innocent passers-by yet can never quite zero in on big Cy. The final showdown is truthfully a lot of fun and you’ll have to witness the melancholy ending for yourself to fully appreciate it! There is a nice soundtrack that’s reminiscent of Carpenter, though it’s lacking any noticeable variation. Enjoy this creative product born of mad Italian genius with a very nice print that is uncut, widescreen.

  • DAGMAR & CO. - Uncut!

    Dagmar & Co.  (1971)

This is the story of high-priced call girl Dagmar Anderson as she proceeds through her last day of work. It’s a full schedule to say the least. We see her adventures with two traveling Tokyo businessmen, an angry drunken Russian, a vice-cop, the virgin son of a regular customer, and even one client who proposes marriage! Then there are the lawyer appointments, the doctor appointments, the bank appointments, and of course all of Dagmar’s closest friends. It doesn’t end there. Her brother has gotten a girl in trouble and needs money, and even as she plans an escape from this life, her rough-handed gangster pimp is on his way to her place! None of it matters anymore though, because Dagmar has plans, big plans! What are they? You won’t find out here! There are lots of beautiful and, more often than not, naked women throughout the running time, but there’s also a surprisingly involving story and just the right amount of drama to make this the cult-classic that it is. Carefully constructed and with more depth than you might expect, this movie also features a catchy soundtrack courtesy of Les Baxter. Chances are that you’ll be glad you spent an evening with Dagmar & Co.!

  • DAYS OF HELL - Uncut & Widescreen!

Conrad Nichols is the leader of a group of mercenaries that were once among the very best ‘problem solvers’ the military had at their disposal. Now civilians, they want nothing less than cold cash for any business conducted. They are offered an important assignment and demand a weighty sum of money. No more work like this ever; this big payoff is the way out. All that has to be done is to find a missing Japanese girl and her professor father. Those two carry something important, though there is more at stake than just that – there is chemical warfare, Russian influence, political big business, and before it’s over you can count on no small amount of betrayal! Francesco De Masi contributes the soundtrack that, although appropriate, lacks the spirit of some of his finer scores. Still, there’s a lot of violence, a lot of explosions, and enough of that spirited 80’s Italian war flick mentality to keep things going! If you’re a fan of movies au gratin then don’t miss Days of Hell!

  • DAUGHTER OF THE JUNGLE - Umberto Lenzi Uncut!

Was this review helpful? [Be the first to tell us!]

Directed by Umberto Lenzi in 1982 (not found on Spout!)

Umberto Lenzi is obviously having fun with this light hearted jungle adventure that spoofs his own earlier cannibal films. When Ringo and Butch head off into the Amazon for some sight seeing, they get more than they bargained for! Mistaken for emerald thieves and chased deep down river into the dark regions of the jungle, there they are captured by cannibals, taken in (they have a magical lighter!) and ritualized into having sex with an old toothless female native! When they refuse, they are set up as the village's next meal. The real thieves soon catch up and force most of the village to start mining the river for jewels. Ringo and Butch want to go home, but not before meeting the beautiful Sabrini Siani (in small loincloths, when she's wearing them!) and her pet monkey. All together, they must train the survivors to fight against guns, free the rest of the natives, get rid of the bad guys and fall for Sabrini or never get home safe and sound. Special Effects by Gino De Rossi and the best effect of all in this fun South American romp is Siani taking off her loincloth as many times as possible.

  • DAYS OF VENGEANCE - Uncut & Widescreen

Giuliano Gemma plays Ted Barnett, an innocent man sentenced to thirty years of hard labor. It seems that an illegal gun runner and the local sheriff needed Barnett's father's train business to help transport the weapons across the Mexican border. After framing our hero for murder, they killed off dad setting the tone for revenge. After three years, Barnett breaks out in one of the most original and explosive western jailbreaks we've ever seen! And that's just the beginning of the violence in store for Italian western afficianados. While revenge is a standard in many of these great movies, Days of Vengeance also adds some nice twists in the plot along with a smart storyline (not too hard to imagine since one of the screenwriters is Fernando Di Leo!). Ennio Morricone contributes another great score to another great Italian Western.

    Deadly Impact  (1984)

A young couple has figured out a way to beat the odds in Las Vegas thanks to the assistance of computer technology. Spending their weekends working the system they developed for months and only winning minor amounts at a time they have managed to amass quite a hefty sum. Some local thugs have figured out what’s going on and these unsavory types end up murdering the boyfriend before he can tell them where the money is stashed. The girl is now alone and on the run. Svenson is the angry cop on the case and Williamson is his helicopter pilot friend. They’re trying to find the girl before somebody else does! Plenty of big car chases, bigger car stunts, and even a helicopter pursuit help keep the action moving at a brisk pace! If you listen closely, you’ll even hear musical cues borrowed from such varied sources as the 1990: Bronx Warriors and New York Ripper soundtracks!

    Death Warmed Up  (1983)

A modern day mad scientist uses mind control tactics to urge the son of his difficult partner to viciously murder his own parents. This results in the son, Michael, being institutionalized for several years. Free once again, Michael and several of his friends seek to track down the Doctor for purposes of revenge. They find him on a small island where he’s taken his experiments further than imaginable. His idea is to cheat death, at least that’s what he says, but what he instead achieves is a small army of psychopathic mutants with an insatiable bloodlust! Death Warmed Up is a truly nightmarish movie with lots of style and plenty of intense violence and energetic splatter throughout. An under-rated and little seen gem of a horror/action/thriller film. See it now uncut with all the gore intact and presented to you widescreen!

Turner (Clark) is on a mission of vengeance and not even an entire army is going to stop him! Terrorists have managed to sneak into a military facility and steal a nuclear bomb! During the robbery Turner’s pregnant wife is killed by machine gun fire at the hands of the sadistic leader of the infiltrators (Gregory). Beck (Williamson) is the jet pilot kidnapped by Turner and led into enemy territory. It’ll take their combined skills to survive in a hostile land where their enemies outnumber them a thousand to one! The Turner character is a real bastard throughout the entire movie, but it sure adds something to the numerous scenes of wholesale slaughter to see him that angry. Williamson is always a treat to watch and when it’s time to start cracking heads open he is definitely on top of his game! Watch out for the scene where Beck is tortured by having live electrical wires placed on his testicles… You’d be pissed off too! Mark Gregory fans will likely enjoy him here as a scar-faced mercenary with a real connection to his psychotic side! Lots of violence and bloodshed as people are cut down by gunfire, blown up by missiles, decimated by rockets fired from helicopters/jets, taken out by grenades, knives and so forth. This is another late eighties action script written by Dardano Sachetti so you know what you’re in for! Lots of explosions, a huge body count, and all of it under a liberal sprinkling of finely chopped cheddar!

    The Black Cat  (1990)

A horror movie director and his beautiful actress wife, both on the verge of great fame, begin work on a new project based on the legend of an evil witch – The Third Mother herself! Unfortunately for all involved, it turns out to be more than just a simple legend. The witch is soon resurrected and wants to stop the production before it even starts, by any means necessary! She also needs the young couple’s baby for a sacrificial rite that will complete her reincarnation and let her seemingly limitless evil powers loose upon the entire world! Before it’s over a final battle will be waged with the fate of all humanity hanging in the balance! An extremely entertaining film that is Cozzi’s tribute to Argento’s Three Mothers trilogy featuring plenty of violence, special effects, and colorful nightmare imagery! Forget those censored TV prints and make sure and see it uncut!

  • XIE MO aka THE DEVIL - Asian Gore Horror! Uncut & Widescreen!

Directed by Chang Jen Chieh in 1981 (not found on Spout!)

A loving family’s world is turned upside down when a stranger arrives and ends up marrying into the family. He has conned them all because he is not the kind and caring person he at first appears to be, in fact, he is a ruthless devil intent on stealing everything the family has! It isn’t the first time he has victimized the innocent and, unless he is stopped, it won’t be the last. The cruelty gets out of control and results in the death of one of the family elders. Finally, the forces of dark sorcery are called upon to attempt to exact a violent revenge. This absolutely disgusting film is definitely over the top! Bodies are ripped open to show the insect covered entrails within, blood squirts, kung-fu ghosts attack, tons of maggots are barfed out amidst waves of green bile, faces are bashed in, and more!

The Germans jump into the saucy possession bandwagon with this ultra-sleazy demonic tale of sexual madness! Magdalena is a beautiful virgin living at an all girls boarding house. When her grandfather is mysteriously crucified by Satan himself, Magdalena's body is suddenly violated by Lucifer! She writhes around in pain and ecstasy! She breaks human limbs, demands the local priest to "stick it in me" and spits out black snakes! When the upper attic is supernaturally destroyed, Magdalena keeps running around naked, so it's off to the local shrink for tests. The doc doesn't know what to do, so he takes her to his ranch where she falls in love with a younger physician only to torment him sexually. When Beelzebub starts taking her from behind, her behavior only gets worse! Time for some religious advice and more unearthly nastiness! Don't settle for any alternate print! Digital Conquest's version comes your way completely uncut with all the full frontal nudity and deviant behavior intact!

  • THE DEVIL'S HONEY - Uncut & Widescreen Lucio Fulci Film

THE DEVIL'S HONEY Directed by Lucio Fulci in 1986 (cannot find on Spout!)

Jessica is in love with a Saxophone player by the name of Johnny. Together they play a mean game of cat and mouse. Johnny is unnecessarily cruel. His sexual role as dominator is in full swing! He sodomizes, tortures, plays mental games, takes off for days at a time, etc. while Jessica whines and complains, but keeps coming back for more. After an afternoon of kink Johnny falls and hits his head on a rock. Later that night during a recording session in the studio Johnny collapses and is rushed to the hospital. Meanwhile, his surgeon-to-be is having serious marital problems and is no longer excited by his wife. He visits prostitutes where he is turned on by humiliation! His wife Carol finds out about his excursions and decides to divorce him. The doc panics due to this breaking news just before he enters the hospital room to operate on Johnny. The doctor is exceedingly preoccupied by his troubles during the surgery and Johnny dies during the procedure. Jessica is tormented, angry, and goes quite insane! She blames the doctor, calls his office, and eventually kidnaps him. Soon, the tables are turned as Jessica plays the tormentor. Between flashbacks of her relationship with Johnny and her current situation with her captive it soon becomes evident that Jessica is reaching for something, some conclusion or closure. Wild and Kinky, Lucio Fulci's excursion into domination and role reversal was even ahead of its time in 1986!
