With a cast and crew like this you just can't go wrong! An Italian western directed by Lucio Fulci from a screenplay by Fernando Di Leo is more than enough, but add the acting bravado of Franco Nero and George Hilton and you've got one hell of a film! When Tom Corbett (Nero) gets a mysterious letter to return home after being away for years, he comes back to find his relatives living in poverty and the entire town taken over by the rich and powerful Scott family. Trying to find out what happened leads to a lot of bloodshed and the revelation of dark secrets. This multi-layered western doesn't just have your usual revenge motive; it throws in some serious twists and brutal western violence to boot! We can't stress enough how Massacre Time is absolutely no holds barred! Once Tom hooks up with his alcoholic brother (Hilton) and heads off to Scott's ranch, it's nonstop action from one ambush to the next and they even end up fist fighting each other! Add a very rousing score from Coriolano (Ballad Of Django) Gori and director Fulci's talent for violent action and you've got a true classic!
