Here is another extremely sought after Italian crime film created in the golden age of the genre. This is a very complex movie that tells the story of the Ferrante family and their battle against the changing times. Saxon is great as Gaspare Ardizzone, a man who is willing to use any method necessary to gain a seat on the council; he dreams of immense power and wealth. When this world, dominated by a long-standing code of honor and respect, is thrown into chaos by the greedy excesses of someone who desires nothing more than domination, then a clash of wills and bullets is inevitable! Clearly more focused on the dramatic, this story still contains plenty of violence and nudity. A grim portrait of organized crime that doesn’t flinch away from the ugliness and death that is born of betrayal and blind ambition. Saxon really stands out in his villainous role and, more often than not, steals every scene he is in! Agostina Belli is also terrific as the frightened and grieving widow of one of the sons in the Ferrante family.
