    Double Target  (1987)

Miles O’Keeffe stars as an ex-military specialist in Vietnam trying to recover his son after learning that his wife has died in a concentration camp. The government considers the child their property since the war is over. There are others watching who believe O’Keeffe is in the country to spy on them and they want him dead! He takes a deal from the State Department to gather information on their behalf and if successful he will be allowed to claim his son and take him back to the United States. It won’t be easy though. Svenson plays the angry Russian commander who is hell-bent on destroying the American hero! Massimo Vanni and Luciano Pigozzi appear in small roles. This is some of the most creative use of recycled footage yet, especially during the simulated underwater shark attack! More violent and bloody than many of the movies Mattei made around the same time and you are still treated to the usual pyrotechnic displays!

    Born to Fight  (1989)

Huff is Sam Wood, a Vietnam veteran and survivor of a vicious prison camp where he was tortured before finally managing to escape. When Wood returned to rescue his friends, he found that they were already dead. Some time has passed and he has settled into a life of waste, drinking snake venom mixed with his booze and waiting for nothing. Stavin is Maryline Kane, she approaches Wood and offers a tremendous amount of money if he will accompany her back to the area where the prison camp was to do interviews for a documentary/news story. It all turns out to be a lie, her Father is now a prisoner of that same camp and she knows that only a man like Wood can help set him free! A victim of ensuing circumstances, and unable to resist the money Kane offers anyway, Wood takes action! It’s going to be more complicated than he predicted since the camp is now run by an old nemesis played with sadistic glee by Pochath. When the bullets start to fly his enemies will learn a single truth… Sam Wood was Born To Fight! Made at the same time as Strike Commando 2 (most of the same cast and crew and also written by Claudio Fragasso), but not released until a year later. There is some recycled footage, locations, and music as was normal for these at the time. Somehow though, it’s still a lot of fun and damn entertaining to watch! Hyper rare, but now available uncut & widescreen!

    White Apache  (1984)

Just more of that Italian madness we all love! Shining Sky (Harrison, son of Richard Harrison) was taken in by an Apache tribe as a baby and raised as the son of a chief. Growing into a strong warrior, he catches the eye of the most beautiful woman in the village, Rising Sun (Forner, who has appeared in a couple of Jackie Chan movies, no less). This attraction brings problems with his brother who also had eyes for Rising Sun. After some pretty dramatic goings on, Shining Sky is sent to live among the white man. His father tells him that if/when he returns he will be the leader. As expected, the townsfolk don’t care for him much and the feeling’s mutual since all he ever hears the locals talk about is slaughtering Indians! When Shining Sky finally makes his way back to his real home he finds chaos as the sadistic Ryder and his men have come to kill everybody! And so the real battle for honor and survival begins. Not over the top sleazy per say, but there are a number of scenes featuring children and old people being stabbed or shot down, torture, raping young Indian girls in their church while surrounded by the dead bodies of their families, bloody gun fight action, etc. A fairly decent and entertaining movie that suffers from occasional bouts of silliness but also brings plenty of action and a cool ending!
