In this absolutely fantastic Italian Crime film Milian plays a ‘Family’ lawyer that was accused of dirty dealings and sent away to prison. Two years have since passed and it’s time for him to become a free man once again. Even though he is the Godson of a powerful Mafioso, the desire for a different, quieter life is overwhelming. Balsam is his Godfather, and though he would have killed anybody else for trying to break away, he looks on Milian as his own son. This causes many problems as a war breaks out within the families. Rabal plays an ambitious and embittered man whose thirst for power blinds him; he no longer cares what is right, he just wants to run things… at any cost! When the ensuing attempts to murder Milian and Balsam instead claim the life of an innocent little girl Milian makes the decision to come back as consigliore and fight alongside those whom he feels he has caused so much trouble for. From then on, through San Francisco and onward to Sicily, the streets will run red with the blood of all those who desired to end the reign of the Don of San Francisco! Riz Ortolani’s mesmerizing music and the always eye-catching cinematography of Aristide Massaccessi (Joe D’Amato) help make this one of the finest Italian Mafia/crime/action movies around! There is plenty of emotional intensity, exciting action, and even bloody violence throughout this highly recommend and seldom seen masterpiece of the genre! Make sure and seek out the uncut and widescreen print!
