Joanna is a wealthy woman who has overcome many obstacles in her life. When she was 11 years old a man dressed like a priest raped her and threw her down a flight of cement stairs. As an adult she is confined to a wheelchair because of the incident. She contributes to local hospitals and charities so that people in similar conditions will have programs to help them realize their potential. Also, she has fallen in love with one of the fitness instructors that teaches fencing and archery through the programs she funded. All good times, except for one thing… Visions of a dark figure dressed as a priest and carrying a blood-soaked doll have begun to haunt Joanna! Not even fully understanding her own terror after having repressed the memory, she seeks help from her lover (and eventually husband) Craig. The trouble there is that Craig is the one dressing up as a priest and instigating the horrible visions. All of this is just the beginning! An excellent giallo featuring absolutely brutal murders and great performances from the entire cast. The last twenty minutes is a grueling thrill-ride of suspense, terror and violence. A fantastic way to wind up an outstanding movie that starts over the top and never looks back. Francesco De Masi provided the score, some of which has been recycled from New York Ripper!
