    Firecracker  (1981)

Just about everything you could want in a Martial Arts exploitation Drive-In Classic! Beautiful blond Jillian Kesner plays martial arts expert Susanne Carter who heads off to the Philippines in search of her missing sister. Once there she uncovers a secret drug cartel run by an evil druglord who runs illegal to-the-death fight matches in a nightclub! As she works undercover, she falls for the second in command, who turns out to be directly responsible for her sister's death! Will she get revenge and take out a ton of crooks along the way? You bet! With topless kung fu as her main weapon, you get death by electric saw blade to the head and some serious gory eye gouging! Tons of action, violence and sex to keep this one moving along at a brisk and entertaining pace! Better than your usual fight choreography when compared to other Philippine martial art flicks and some decent acting make this a rare gem indeed! Make sure and see FIRECRACKER uncut (it was banned entirely in Iceland!).

    Damned In Venice  (1978)

    DAMNED IN VENICE

Directed by Ugo Liberatore in 1978 and starring Renato Cestie, Rena Niehaus, Lorraine De Selle and Olga Karlatos.

Mark is a young blind boy who is looked after by his embittered sister and also suffers from gruesome visions of an ominous man dressed in black. When the mysterious stranger steps out of Mark’s nightmares into reality, and his sister becomes unexpectedly pregnant, Mark is convinced that demonic forces are at work and that the birth of the antichrist may be at hand! This Italian merging of themes from The Omen and Rosemary’s Baby is a tense and atmospheric excursion into evil featuring a shocking climax that will not soon be forgotten! Gore, nudity and suspense can all be found in this rare and recommended film that we offer widescreen and uncut. Pino Donaggio supplies the score!

  • A QUIET PLACE TO KILL aka PARANOIA - Excellent Early Gialli

    Paranoia  (1969)

Helen, after recovering from a near fatal car crash that took place during a professional race, discovers she is broke. She decides to accept an invitation to stay at her ex-husband's (who she once tried to murder in response to his indiscreet infidelities) extravagant villa and learns that it was not Maurice who sent the invitation, but his new wife, Constance. Constance wants to recruit Helen to assist in her diabolical plot to murder Maurice, but things go wrong and Constance ends up getting killed instead! Her daughter arrives shortly after and knows something isn’t quite right with the story of her Mother’s accidental death. All this is only the beginning. A brilliant giallo that Digital Conquest offers in a very nice English language print for all you Lenzi/Baker fans that just can’t get enough! We can’t say as we blame you either.

  • NOTHING UNDERNEATH - A late entry Giallo worth checking out!

Bob Crane has a psychic link with his fashion-model sister who happens to be in Milano, Italy. When he gets a flash of her murder, he's off to Europe to find her. Slightly different and better than your average gialli, we get sex, murder and beautiful women as a killer knocks off one victim after another with a large pair of scissors. Donald Pleasance adds more class to the proceedings as a retiring detective who wants to help Crane, but isn't given much to go on. Despite the clues, Crane runs into one red herring after another and keeps the viewer from guessing the shocking truth! The murders are stylish, not tacky or ultra-gory, but the motives are as sleazy as they come. This would make a great companion piece to TOO BEAUTIFUL TO DIE and FASHION CRIMES. Tons of twists and turns as we get a glimpse into fashion modeling and the seedy trappings underneath!  Make sure and see it uncut and widescreen!
