John Slade is veteran who must wage his own personal war in order to rescue a friend who is being held hostage by communist evildoers. The painfully generic plot would be just another reason to consider this movie utterly dismissible if there weren’t a number of things worth noting, starting with the director, cast, and crew. For example, Umberto Lenzi and Tito Carpi, they wrote the screenplay for this! Enzo’s daughter (Stefania Girlolami) was even the assistant director! Also, the entire movie is essentially one long and bloody action scene where the body count reaches truly impressive proportions! There are a couple of surprise appearances by recognizable performers as well. Finally, some of the lines are just gems! If you’re a low budget Italian action/trash fan then Striker is a pretty safe bet!
