Are You a Sucker For Franchises Too?
Ever since I've had my Netflix membership, it's been pretty amazing to see how many great movies there are that I've never seen. I hate having to pick from favorites so I randomize my 500 maximum Netflix queue and get ready to be surprised. After randomizing I pick out the first franchise and set it up so I get one new one each week. The first time I tried this was with Jaws and learned that four times in a row is too much of the same movie.
Lately I've been on the Halloween franchise. So far I've seen all but the last one and found several of the films to be very good, but watch out for number 3. In fact I'd skip entirely as it doesn't relate to the storyline in any way.
There do seem to be a lot of inconsistencies in the plot include a mysterious stranger who is never explained. The fourth was my favorite and represented a return to the original Halloween's true roots.
I really enjoy watching franchises in this way and wondered if anyone else had different strategies in how they approach the epics?
