This is a beast from Hell that is here for one reason...To feed. A terrifying story about being issolated, hungry, frozen, and hunted. The new vampires speak this weird language and make these horrifying guteral screeches to announce they have found another human. And then they dive in like like a wild animal. Instead of leaving two dots on your neck they leave a murder scene in the snow. Fans of horror will love this one.The new zombie standard sequelhttp://www.spout.com/blogs/danegr/archive/2008/2/29/25724.aspxFri, 29 Feb 2008 18:49:09 GMTcdd0f780-13db-4d93-b0f4-ada579d02ae7:25724danegr0http://www.spout.com/blogs/danegr/comments/25724.aspxhttp://www.spout.com/blogs/danegr/commentrss.aspx?PostID=25724Sequels usually equalls = suck. Not so here. The new director capitalized on the kick ass concept of 28 Days, and took it beyond the running thru the streets looking for a new place to hide. This movie explores what happens after the decimation. The new kind of zombie is infected with a virus that cause them to go bananas and kill everything they can find. They however do not survive on brains. In fact givin enough time they die off from starvation. This movie explores what to do after the "Zombies" have died and it is time to reinhabit the land, assuming there are no more straglers......wooo haaa haa haa! I hope this trend of reinventing the old standards catches on as it has with these two movies and 30 Days of Night. We need a little more believable horror to keep up with the terrifying reallity of modern life. The new zombie standardhttp://www.spout.com/blogs/danegr/archive/2008/2/29/25723.aspxFri, 29 Feb 2008 18:34:27 GMTcdd0f780-13db-4d93-b0f4-ada579d02ae7:25723danegr0http://www.spout.com/blogs/danegr/comments/25723.aspxhttp://www.spout.com/blogs/danegr/commentrss.aspx?PostID=25723The bar for zombie movies has been raised. You almost can't say zombie since they don't stumble around blindly searching for "BRAINS". The concept here is a highly contagious virus called "RAGE" that the government has been developing for use as a Weapon of Mass Destruction. The afflicted go berzerk, killing anything in there path. They are fast and they know how to operate a door knob. Contact with their blood and you have thirty seconds before you become a raving bloodthirsty maniac. The whole voodoo concept of a gas that reanimates the dead or a spell that opens a portal to hell seems so yesterday now. Now movie makers are challenged to keep up with our fears of secret govt. testing facilities and Chemical warfare. Great movie. Great concept. High speed camera work to match your heart rate. Focuses less on the rotting flesh special effects and more on the tactical response needed to stay in front of the advancing hordes. For zombie-files, this is a must see, must own flick.
