It's impossible for a movie to be better than "Lawrence of Arabia." Maybe, just maybe, you could equal it, but you could never surpass it. Every time I watch it, I pick up another nuance, some little plot point I hadn't noticed before. It gets better with each viewing. That's the sign of a true work of art.
