    Vantage Point  (2008)

This movie was well shot and pieced together, with little twists and turns to keep me interested.  It also was slightly predictable and lost me around half-way through.  The gimmick of "point of view" worked to a certain degree, but then became quite a limiting factor to the story for me.  I wanted to see scenes come to more completion, I wanted to see the story progress past the 30 minutes that the story captures.  Its strength was in the camera work and editing, this made it enjoyable to watch for me.

    Smoke  (1995)

Tivo happened to grab this movie and seeing the list of actors help me to decide to watch.  I was expecting something with a little more production, something with a little more power.  The acting is good, slightly dry dialog, but the story leads well from subplot to subplot, connecting the scenes into a nice woven piece.  Elements of this movie seemed to be recycled elements from other movies.  But surprisingly I still felt that it connected.  It may be the element of hope/a second chance that drew me in.  Even though William Hurt's Charachter knows he is being decieved he looks through all that and keeps giving a second chance.  Knowing ones faults but looking past because he was flawed too.

    Troll II  (1992)

In a recent schedule of horrible horror movies, we came across this gem.  Not only does this film have some of the worst acting you will ever see, some of the worst costumes, but also the worst dialog and climax you have probably ever seen on a release.  Understanding how the movie was created helps understand why this movie is so bad,  If you are looking for a gag movie that will have you rolling and saying WTF for the rest of the week, take a look at this film.  And best of all its making a comeback,  check out. http://www.bestworstmovie.com/
