    October  (1927)

If you haven't discovered Eisenstein, than here is a good place to start. I have no idea how this movie was made in 1927. Amazing editing. Highlight of my day!

    Con Air  (1997)

Three great actors. One terrible film. The plot is so stupid. Wrongly accused man is sent to jail on a prison airplane and criminals hijack the airplane. Thanks to director Simon West we not only get to see Con Air but also The turds I like to call The General’s Daughter & Tomb Raider. Shame on you Roger Ebert 4 stars???!!!!

    The Godfather  (1972)

I know it’s so cliché, but The Godfather really is one of the greatest films ever made. The performances are amazing from everyone. Francis Ford Coppola is at his best. The look, feel, and sound of this film is unforgettable!

I own this movie, and have seen it many times, but i have major problems with it. I love H.G. Wells stories. I love old Sci-Fi. I love Invasion Of The Body Snatchers, The Time Machine, The Day The Earth Stood Still, and The Thing From Another World, but I just don’t love this movie. I guess my problem with this film is that it bores me, and the acting is terrible. At first it was funny to see them try to act scared, but then it just got too campy. I totally respect the special effects done by George Pal, and I wish I could enjoy this movie more than I do, but I just can’t. I would love to have seen how Cecil B. DeMille (who was originally slated to direct) would have made this.

Let me start off by saying that I eat meat, and I do not think any animals life is worth more than that of a human. That being said, Le Sang des Betes (Blood Of The Beasts)  is one of the most difficult films you will ever watch. The film sheds light on the slaughterhouses of Paris in the 40's. I don't think Franju's agenda was to turn anyone Vegan, but to simply show the people and animals in these slaughterhouses. It is brutal, and anyone who sees this film will question the way these animals are killed (especially the killing of horses to make glue and other materials) & the cleanliness of the meat. Le Sang des Betes really puts into perspective what exactly you are eating, and without being preachy, compels us to at least have more of a respect for these creatures.
