Hidden treasure in "Drop Dead Gorgeous"
In my opinion, this is one of those comedy films that never got enough attention. Some of the big names in the movie alone would make you curious to watch "Drop Dead Gorgeous". It is so absolutely ridiculous, that it's hysterical! Although spoofing beauty pageants, especially in a small town, it really makes you wonder and realize what lengths people will go to to attain a crown; a crown that these people think defines them. But they believe this is their ticket out of the small town that seems to have destroyed the lives of the adults who remain here. They all want their child to succeed by winning this pageant, and they'll stoop to the lowest level if it means winning! There is such subtly of comedy in some of the scenes but you don't have to read too much into it. You can just sit back and let this movie take you on a gut-busting, laugh till you pee your pants, ride!!!
