I thought Charlotte's Web is far from a modern day classic, but it's a faithful adaptation of the book. Julia Roberts' soothing voice was perfect casting -- I can't imagine anyone else playing Charlotte's voice and making her, well, less creepy.
The movie had a wonderful message. Dakota Fanning was fine, but the movie didn't focus much on the human characters so it didn't make a difference one way or another.
