NINO BROWN!! Thats my dogg!! Boooyyyy Wesley Snipes put it to these cats but Damnn!! he fell off at the end! Absolute Power man! It will get you every time! For me I think this movie started the whole gotta get the soundtrack thing. The music was felt throughout the whole movie and even defined most of the defining moments of the film. Not since (and I know I'm gonna get alot of flak for this) Scarface has a movie captured the angst of a charcter and made you root for them even though their desires and path would lead them to corruption and despair for others. Though we all knew he was wrong, somewhere along the way we knew that his good intentions went the way of the wind.

One of my personal favorites! I love this movie! Funny to the teeth (pun intended) and packed with a lot of up and coming talent that was fairly new at that time. The comedic timing in this musical was on the mark. Steve Martin as a loony, crazed dentist was one of the many high points. And though most musicals become redundant and just plain start to get on my nerves, the songs in this movie just keep the laughs flowing.

The only reason I'm even gonna put this on here is to see why so many people praised this movie!! I really thought that it could've been a lot better. I'll just say this.....the last 10mins of the movie ruined it all for me. Ya'll know what I'm talking about! The only reason in my mind that this movie has garnered the type of publicity it has is because the studios and fans of Scorsese want him to have gotten an Oscar before his time is up. Then on to my final point, why is it that no one wants to mention that this movie is an almost exact copy (remake) of a Japanese movie called Miu gaan diy from 2002 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0338564/ . Then to be quite honest, he doesn't even do it any justice. The original is much better.

Great movie! One that should have won besides "The Departed", but that's another story. When I saw this movie I immediately thought "Crash", just on a global scale. Either way that's a flattering compliment and one that would have held up if it wasn't for one unnecessary story. The Japanese girl! Those of you who've seen it know what I'm talking about! While I did become concerned for her character and became wrapped up in her story, the pay-off just wasn't worth it at the end.
