Ok...I've never really considered myself all that methodical. I'm usually a fairly haphazard, free style, flying by the seat-of-my-pants kinda guy. But I've noticed something different when it comes to playing around on Spout: I've been very methodical when it comes to collecting/cataloging ALL of the films I've seen. Why? My thought is this: If this site is all about promoting film, getting recommendations from others and discussing film, I need as complete a "seen it" list as I can have. This will drive both my recommendations to others (because I won't recommend a film that someone has already seen), my "want to see it" list (which I will gather from others lists) and any/all conversations I have (people won't have to ask "Did you see...?").
Wish me luck on this task. As of the date of this post, I have 41 pages of film (i.e. about 820 films) in my "I've Seen this Movie" list. Keep an eye on it. I hope to get passed 100 pages (2000 films).
