Pretty Poison
In lieu of an actual review (which will probably come later), I wanted to commend this woefully overlooked film for its unapologetic and unaffected portrayal of two severely troubled protagonists. Anthony Perkins and Tuesday Weld play characters whose morality and whose regard for society (and their role within it) are so skewed, nihilistic, and inimical that it's strangely refreshing to see a film which offers no explanation for or condemnation of their actions; all mankind has the capacity for evil, and the arid tedium of everyday life is every bit as likely a mainspring for antisocial behavior as any other psychological justification one can level at a deviant.
