  • A great effort from triple threat Perry

Writer-director-actor Tyler Perry is a triple threat and he pulls it off well.  This movie has a lot of heart, hope and fun!

  • One of my favorites

Silence Of The Lambs represents filmmaking at its finest for me.  The script is smart and moves well.

Jonathan Demme's direction is on the mark.  And the acting scenes between Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins are unforgettable.

  • Fred Zinneman creates another really good one

An absorbing film from director, Fred Zinnemann, who has made classics (High Noon for one).  Political in theme, this movie is still very fine story telling

  • A great Western

    High Noon  (1952)

This now fits in with one of the best western movies that I have seen.  And, for me, it all boiled down to one man, against all adds, standing tall.   Gary Cooper stood very tall in this.  Grace Kelly gave her beauty.

It seems like director Fred Zinnemann created a classic with this film, which was written by Carl Foreman

  • I love this very original concept.

    Channels  (2007)

I rented this, because i had heard soem word of mouth on it.  I was looking for a traditional romantic comedy.  CHANNELS was a turn from that.  I have to admit that this heartfelt romantic story of two lovers took me by surprise.  A very pleasant one.

CHANNELS affirms that love is a force to which the laws of space and time do not apply.

The screenplay brings our characters together and holds on to them, while subtly exploring what is “real”, or what makes something real, or rather how we define what is “real.”

Nat Christian performs the triple task of writing, directing and acting with great virtuosity.   As an actor, he is compelling to watch, always honest.

Kim Oja shows a feisty side along with a sweetness that would melt anyone’s heart.  In a cameo appearance, Joan Van Ark sobers you up with her fine acting ability.

The multi-talented Ed Asner can only be real.  The scenes with him and Christian are funny and tense. Rounding out the main cast, Taylor Negron and John Kassir are consummate actors. Director,

Christian, handles his actors masterfully, giving them a healthy amount of screen time.  They all deliver great performances.

As a storyteller, Christian captivates us from point A to point Z.  Not just going there, but taking us there.  The production design was utterly romantic.  The score by Rossanno Galante was moving.  I’ll probably watch this movie once a year (maybe once every two years

Finally, it's a real pleasure to see a movie where there is a "voice."   I truly appreciate that, even with films that I necessarily don't take to.  The ,mere fact that filmmakers express their own voice is what keeps me watching, going to, renting independent movies.
