Peter feels just as trapped as everyone else until he starts spending time with Danny, his beautiful new co-worker at the convenient store. She is getting married in a week because in her world thats what people do. The dark force moving through the town collides with these characters conflicts in an instantly classic resolve of pure vampire teeth sinking bliss.

Review of "Network"http://www.spout.com/blogs/arincrumley/archive/2008/1/5/23546.aspxSun, 06 Jan 2008 03:19:31 GMTcdd0f780-13db-4d93-b0f4-ada579d02ae7:23546arincrumley0http://www.spout.com/blogs/arincrumley/comments/23546.aspxhttp://www.spout.com/blogs/arincrumley/commentrss.aspx?PostID=23546This film is more and more relevant every day. And it's a great film. Hillarious and at the same time a really great comment on how TV warps peoples minds. Also deals with peoples need for someone to preach what they believe. But the film works on another level as well. I was telling my friend Roger about the film and I realized that it also works on another level. Warning people not only to beware of the truth spun by TV, but also beware of the truth spun by reality. To not take what our eyes see as complete fact but know that we are more then whats inside our skin and that there is a more birds eye view way to look at life so that we aren't just tuning into the next episode.
Howard Beale says, "you people are the real thing, we are the illusion" and that line works on this other level I'm talking about as well. Maybe reality is also an illusion. So it's an illusion creating illusions. Very meta.
Live Free or Die Hardhttp://www.spout.com/blogs/arincrumley/archive/2007/11/5/21412.aspxMon, 05 Nov 2007 05:00:24 GMTcdd0f780-13db-4d93-b0f4-ada579d02ae7:21412arincrumley0http://www.spout.com/blogs/arincrumley/comments/21412.aspxhttp://www.spout.com/blogs/arincrumley/commentrss.aspx?PostID=21412I know, it's a stupid die Hard Movie. But I liked the first half about the hackers being exploited to design software that could take over all of the nations systems. The film had a lot of problems in the second half but I watched it on a plane and was pretty nervous of how it was going to end, so thats an action movie doing it's job right?"That was some good sex we had last night."http://www.spout.com/blogs/arincrumley/archive/2007/11/4/21410.aspxSun, 04 Nov 2007 19:32:00 GMTcdd0f780-13db-4d93-b0f4-ada579d02ae7:21410arincrumley0http://www.spout.com/blogs/arincrumley/comments/21410.aspxhttp://www.spout.com/blogs/arincrumley/commentrss.aspx?PostID=21410
Great quotes like that make this movie pretty classic. My favorite seen is when the lead girl is winning everyone at Mortal Combat and then the lead guy she likes starts playing and she just stares at him with adoration. With her eyes off the video game screen he takes her head and rips it out of her body in the game and then is holding a head that has a spine dangling out of it. In one scene you see whats going to happen over the course of the movie. Brilliant.

Life is a train ride - don't miss the train - leave your bagage behindhttp://www.spout.com/blogs/arincrumley/archive/2007/10/14/20809.aspxSun, 14 Oct 2007 05:06:07 GMTcdd0f780-13db-4d93-b0f4-ada579d02ae7:20809arincrumley0http://www.spout.com/blogs/arincrumley/comments/20809.aspxhttp://www.spout.com/blogs/arincrumley/commentrss.aspx?PostID=20809
The Darjeeling Limited was an amazing film for it's layers and comments about life. And it makes all the comments without breaking a sweat, it's not like I feel every hit in the pit of my stomach, it's more like as I leave I feel that I know a little more about how life is and how it opperates.

And I cracked up of course cause it is a pretty damn funny movie too.

Also it related to my life because in 2002 I went on a 1 month trip through europe with my two sisters. And my older sister was totally playing the "mom" roll and telling us what to do and there was all kinds of inside secrets that two of us wouldn't tell the third and we all were reduced to acting like kids for what ever unresolved tension there still was. Also there had been a recent family tragedy that we all hadn't completely dealt with yet. So it rang true and was extra funny for all of those reasons. If you see the film, you'll see the connecitons there.

Every U.S. resident must see this film.http://www.spout.com/blogs/arincrumley/archive/2007/7/5/13131.aspxThu, 05 Jul 2007 05:14:38 GMTcdd0f780-13db-4d93-b0f4-ada579d02ae7:13131arincrumley0http://www.spout.com/blogs/arincrumley/comments/13131.aspxhttp://www.spout.com/blogs/arincrumley/commentrss.aspx?PostID=13131
Whats amazing is to see literally medical refuges. People leaving the country to seek medical care in countries that don't have profit based health care systems. Michael Moore takes you every where you need to go to have the passion that he has on this issue as your own. You need to see this film so you know that there are people in the medical industry confessing that they withheld medical treatment in order to further their career. This is why filmmaking exists, so we can all share our humanity and if something is as broken as our medical system is we can all work together to first become aware of it's problems and then to fix them.

And you'll get some good laughs in the film too.

Arin
Classic filmhttp://www.spout.com/blogs/arincrumley/archive/2007/6/14/11091.aspxThu, 14 Jun 2007 18:58:50 GMTcdd0f780-13db-4d93-b0f4-ada579d02ae7:11091arincrumley0http://www.spout.com/blogs/arincrumley/comments/11091.aspxhttp://www.spout.com/blogs/arincrumley/commentrss.aspx?PostID=11091Susan and I love this movie, we both saw it long before we knew each other and really did correspond over email before we met realizing we had both seen the film. Everyone should see this film, there are a lot of little nods to Skitzopolis in Four Eyed Monsters. Imagination sequences, leaving the perspective of one character and entering the perspective of another, grainy sections to add texter, time-lapse, and some of our comedy type stuff like the women in the restaurant is kind of based inspired by the type of comedy in this movie.
