The storyline is great, and the animation is fantastic.  The only bad thing I can think of with this movie, is that there isn't enough superhero-ish scenes.  As much as I love plot/character development, this movie needed more superhero fight scenes (as well as more heroes).  The plot is very creative, and pulls you right in.  You really can't go wrong with this flick.

To put it simply, while the original gets 5 stars, this one only gets 4.  This version adds a ton of extra scenes that don't necessarily add to the story.  There are a few scenes though that have the "ooohhh" factor, but were appropriately left out on the original version.  If you liked the original you'll probably like this one too, although probably not as much.  Make sure you pee before you start though, it's a long one!

Before seeing this movie, I had never heard about the story.   I thought the idea was pretty cool, but it was missing something.  You could tell that there was a lot of content that the director wanted to get through, but didn't have the time.  Every scene seemed to lack detail & development - as if they were rushing through.  Watching the movie sparked my interest in the book(s), really only because I could tell there was a ton of stuff missing.
