How do I contact you?
There are a couple of ways to get in touch with us. First, you can go to the Customer Care Group for answers to all your questions and concerns. Or you can go to the Feedback Group to give us your thoughts about the site.

I forgot my username and password.
Click here. We’ll get you up and running right away. You will receive an email from us with your user name and password. If you don't receive an email from us, be sure to check your junk folder.

How do I cancel my account or change my username??
If you would like to cancel your account, select the link under the Help section called "Cancel Account". We will take care of the rest. At this point, we can't change usernames, but we can cancel your account so that you can start over with a new account, just let us know.

How do I unsubscribe from receiving emails from Spout?
If you would prefer to not receive certain emails from Spout, you can select or deselect your preferences by going to My Stuff > Profile > Email preferences. You will be able to select the emails you would like to receive, and deselect the one's you don't.

How many films does Spout offer?
We have a library of 240,000+ titles. Most large online stores offer 40-50,000 titles, which are the titles of the DVDs they stock. Even though all the titles in our library are not available on DVD, we recognize people still want to talk about a lot of great films that are out of print or have yet to be released.

I want to submit a film to Spout.
Visit us in Customer Care Group and select the discussion header "Film Content". Leave any information you have about the film (Title, Director, Year of Production, Movie Poster, Synopsis, or UPC code if it applies) and we’ll check it out. If it all checks out, we'll put it up on the site.
If you're a filmmaker with a film that's been to a festival, we're working on tools for you and we want your input in the
Feedback Group.

What is "digital swag?"
Free Spout stuff for your computer; check out the Tag Cloud Screensaver or the super cool My List Widget which you can export to profiles that you have on other sites. It's like having sweet clothes for your computer and profiles, all for free (The Tag Cloud Screensaver is particularly sweet.)

How do I invite friends?
Click on "Invite your friends!" at the bottom of the People menu. Choose one of the three different methods of inviting your friends to Spout. Remember, if you invite 5 people, we will give you $20!

How do I upload a photo?
You can upload an photo to appear next to your Spout name in the top left corner of your screen. The image file size should be less than 250K. Go to: My stuff > My profile > My photo.
 
Where it says "Upload photo" click "Browse." Select an image from your computer you would like to use then click "Next." Crop the image using the cropping tool and then click Finish.

How do I find a specific person?
If you're looking for somebody specific and don't know their Spout identity, there's a couple ways to find them. Although we do not publish the email people sign up with publicly on the site, you can search people by their email address or name in the “Find People” search box. You can also look for people in your area by searching for a zip code.

How do I make a group private?
Go to a group that you own and select the "Admin" tab. There will be a Privacy section at the bottom with a box that you can select called "private". By doing this, the information in your group will not be visible to people who are not members of your group.

How do I approve or reject membership requests to my group?
Go to your group and click on the "Members" tab. If anyone has requested to join your group there will be a section called "These users need your attention", there will be buttons next to their name that say either "Yes" or "No". Select one to either accept or reject a person who has requested into your group.

What's new with groups?
Recently, we created some enhancements to our groups that will make the groups experience more enjoyable. We updated the look, feel, and function of several areas. There is a Recent Activity area to keep track of what people have been doing in the group, a Movies area that allows you to view all the movies that have been discussed or listed, a Members area that keeps all the groups members listed with new abilities to contact or approve people, a Discussion area, a lists area, and a special Admin area that is only visible to the Administrators of the group. If you are an Admin, you will see settings options that are not visible to regular members that will allow you to control the abilities of users in the group. If you have questions or need help with group functions, visit us at the Customer Care Group.

How do I import my Netflix lists into Spout?

Can I import my Netflix ratings??
While it is possible to import the list of titles that are in your queue, it is not possible to import the ratings that you give the films through the Netflix site. We would love for this to be an option, but this is something we have not been able to work out with Netflix yet. Feel free to write them a friendly email with this as a request..

I want to return a DVD.
Hopefully, you did not open the actual movie (we need the DVD packaging intact to refund your money). If the product is defective, we’ll cover the costs of shipping. Follow these steps:
 .    Contact Customer Care for a Return Authorization number (RA#).
 .    Package your return securely using the same package it came in, if possible.
 .    Write your RA# on the outside of the package.

How do I exchange a DVD?
We don't actually do exchanges, but if you follow the return policy, its pretty much the same except we order a new movie for you. We can only do this if the DVD is damaged or broken.

My DVD won't work.
A replacement DVD will be sent to you as soon as possible. Just contact customer care and let us know. We will issue you a return authorization number (RA#) and send you a shipping label.

What does "backorder" mean?
When you click "Buy it" for a DVD and it says "Backorder," it means the DVD is available but there is no copy presently on the shelf at our warehouse. Depending on the vendor we're ordering from, it may come in the next day or in several weeks. Just to be safe, we typically say a backordered item may take three to six weeks to be fulfilled.

Why doesn't the "Want to Buy it" button work?
The "want to buy it" button should add that movie to your list of DVD's you want to buy. Then later you can go back and check this list to see if these films are available on DVD, or when you are ready to buy them.

Why don't some movies have the "Buy it on DVD" option?
If a movie does not have a "Buy it on DVD" button, it means the DVD has been discontinued or has not been released. We keep these titles in Spout because we know a lot of great films out there are still worth talking about even if they're unavailable on DVD.

How do I redeem a gift certificate?
Place an item in your shopping cart by clicking the "Buy it" button. When an item is in your shopping cart, you'll find a box to enter your gift certificate code. Copy and paste the code from your gift certificate email into this box. Click "Update cart."

How much do I have left on my gift certificate?
If you have used your gift certificate, you can find the balance left under My stuff> My account. If you have not yet used your gift certificate, place an item in your shopping cart by clicking the "Buy it" button. When an item is in your shopping cart, you'll find a box to enter your gift certificate code. Copy and paste the code from your gift certificate email into this box. Click "Update cart." The balance available will then appear under My account.

You have one year to redeem your gift certificate from the date you received your gift certificate email.

How do I report inappropriate behavior?
Go to the page where you saw the inappropriate behavior and at the bottom you'll see "Report bad behavior." Click on it. We will handle the rest on our end. Please keep in mind Spout is a site geared for the over 18 crowd, but any behavior that breaks the Terms and Conditions will be dealt with promptly.

What's RSS?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. An RSS feed reader will pull in content, like a blog post, without you having to come to Spout.com. It's a convenient way to keep track of, say, a list you share with your group. To pull in a blog that you have at another site, check out the RSS options under My Stuff > Filmblog > Manage Settings. You should be able to enter the feed from your other blog so that you don't have to manually enter reviews from another blog into your filmblog at Spout. If you wish to track content from Spout through another site, you can click on any orange RSS link any where on the site.
