If you are a member of this group, you love everything about the Super Bowl of movies, especially the movies themselves! You love to make predictions, guess at the politics, discuss and dissect who should have been nominated and who should have won...or, you're just an avid movie lover that likes to pay attention. Group Name: Movies we do not want to see - Try to convince us to see these movies!
Group Description: Want to be a member? Send me a message with a list of at least 5 movies that you do not want to see.

There are many movies that I do not want to see. I'm not sure if its right of me to decide never to see a movie without seeing it. You know...like when a kid says they hate mushrooms even though they admit never trying them. So maybe this is a good spot for people to display movies they don't think they want to see, and see if anyone can convince us to try them out.
Body: I have a couple 'nuts and bolts' questions for you.-Does the credit card monster still exist? Or are you both seeing the light from under that mountain (particularly in funding from FEM but probably from other sources as well)?Currently the credit card monster does still exist. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. We're still awaiting payment from various distribution outlets that we've sold rights to and as those come through big chunks of debt will be neutralized. We should be entirely out of debt by February 2009 and all the debt will be absolved by revenue streams coming from Four Eyed Monsters. That's really exciting. I know it seems very mechanical but the idea that an act of creativity can have value and can be enough to pay for itself and you while you're working on it makes me want to giggle hysterically. I think one of the problems Arin and I have suffered from and a major problem for a lot of creatives I know is feeling that you shouldn't be compensated for your creative work or that you won't be even if you deserve to be. I think we all intellectually understand that we should be able to support ourselves with our filmmaking, music making or art making or whatever it is we're compelled to do, but for a long time I haven't felt on, an emotional level, that I deserved that or that it was even possible. Clearing out that block is the first step to financial success and freedom. I am now beginning to find budgets for projects I want to work on and I foresee actually earning income out of making films and music videos. -What is the actual timeframe of the last several episodes in particular? I haven't kept up with regularity, but I did notice the gap in anything being released, yet the timeframe I percieved is a little confusing to me (ie. episode 8 seemed to be less than a year from the release of the last several episodes yet more than a year seemed to have elapsed in that time.) Episode 9 picked up where episode 8 left off. When episode 8 was posted it discussed events that had happened about a year earlier. There were a lot of logistical reasons why we halted in producing episodes but I think the main reason was that the story we needed to tell was still playing out. Even though where episode 9 picked up had by that time happened 2 years earlier we were about to the tell the story of how things fell apart, but when we first tried editing that stuff we were in the midst of that story occuring. It was almost impossible editing that footage because it all pointed to what was happening in our relationship at that time. A year or more elapsed between episode 8 and 9 because we broke up, kept working together, started dating other people, kept working together etc. We were feeling our way through everything, trying to understand who we were to each other. When we edited the new episodes, 9,10 and 11 were about events that had taken place about 2 years prior, episodes 12 started where episode 11 left off covered about a 2 year period of time after that, then episode 13 covered the following year and caught up to where we were in November of 2007.
Also then when we decided that life had brought us an opportunity to tell a crazy story and that this might be the only opportunity that we'd have and we had to take it and jump full force into telling our story. And then again when we got into slamdance and also when we were invited by YouTube to be the first feature length film posted to YouTube and we started seeing we started seeing the view count sky rocket and spout dollars come flying in. Body: This is my friend Rogers movie that premiered at Sundance. Here is the synopsis I wrote for it: A mysterious vampire presence moves through the small town of Stafford Springs Connecticut seeming to almost be doing miserable people the favor of removing them from this planet. Peter feels just as trapped as everyone else until he starts spending time with Danny, his beautiful new co-worker at the convenient store. She is getting married in a week because in her world thats what people do. The dark force moving through the town collides with these characters conflicts in an instantly classic resolve of pure vampire teeth sinking bliss.
Body: This film is more and more relevant every day. And it's a great film. Hillarious and at the same time a really great comment on how TV warps peoples minds. Also deals with peoples need for someone to preach what they believe. But the film works on another level as well. I was telling my friend Roger about the film and I realized that it also works on another level. Warning people not only to beware of the truth spun by TV, but also beware of the truth spun by reality. To not take what our eyes see as complete fact but know that we are more then whats inside our skin and that there is a more birds eye view way to look at life so that we aren't just tuning into the next episode. Howard Beale says, "you people are the real thing, we are the illusion" and that line works on this other level I'm talking about as well. Maybe reality is also an illusion. So it's an illusion creating illusions. Very meta.
Body: I know, it's a stupid die Hard Movie. But I liked the first half about the hackers being exploited to design software that could take over all of the nations systems. The film had a lot of problems in the second half but I watched it on a plane and was pretty nervous of how it was going to end, so thats an action movie doing it's job right?
Body: Great quotes like that make this movie pretty classic. My favorite seen is when the lead girl is winning everyone at Mortal Combat and then the lead guy she likes starts playing and she just stares at him with adoration. With her eyes off the video game screen he takes her head and rips it out of her body in the game and then is holding a head that has a spine dangling out of it. In one scene you see whats going to happen over the course of the movie. Brilliant.
Body: The Darjeeling Limited was an amazing film for it's layers and comments about life. And it makes all the comments without breaking a sweat, it's not like I feel every hit in the pit of my stomach, it's more like as I leave I feel that I know a little more about how life is and how it opperates. And I cracked up of course cause it is a pretty damn funny movie too. Also it related to my life because in 2002 I went on a 1 month trip through europe with my two sisters. And my older sister was totally playing the "mom" roll and telling us what to do and there was all kinds of inside secrets that two of us wouldn't tell the third and we all were reduced to acting like kids for what ever unresolved tension there still was. Also there had been a recent family tragedy that we all hadn't completely dealt with yet. So it rang true and was extra funny for all of those reasons. If you see the film, you'll see the connecitons there.
Body: Whats amazing is to see literally medical refuges. People leaving the country to seek medical care in countries that don't have profit based health care systems. Michael Moore takes you every where you need to go to have the passion that he has on this issue as your own. You need to see this film so you know that there are people in the medical industry confessing that they withheld medical treatment in order to further their career. This is why filmmaking exists, so we can all share our humanity and if something is as broken as our medical system is we can all work together to first become aware of it's problems and then to fix them. And you'll get some good laughs in the film too.Arin
Body: Susan and I love this movie, we both saw it long before we knew each other and really did correspond over email before we met realizing we had both seen the film. Everyone should see this film, there are a lot of little nods to Skitzopolis in Four Eyed Monsters. Imagination sequences, leaving the perspective of one character and entering the perspective of another, grainy sections to add texter, time-lapse, and some of our comedy type stuff like the women in the restaurant is kind of based inspired by the type of comedy in this movie.
