Body: This is so hard; they're are so many it seems. Here goes: Dirty Dancing "Nobody puts baby in the corner." This was a super favorite movie of mine growing up. I loved this movie and would watch it every single day around the time when our laserdisc player was breaking. I'd ask my parents to watch it everyday until my mom hid the movie from me and lied to me saying that my uncle took it with him when he moved. I continued to believe this lie until my high school years, which was when my mom told me that we had it the whole time. Drop Dead Fred Also a favorite. I'd watch this over and over again, and it even made me wish I had an imaginary friend like Fred growing up. The Princess Bride I remember watching this all the time when I was really young. Despite my crazy fear of some old lady in the movie (I associated that characted as being a scary witch), I still liked watching this. Superman II Let's just say that I watched this movie religiously -- everyday after I'd come home from elementary school until the VCR broke. I was so bummed. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze Nothing like the teenage mutant ninja turtles facing against Shredder and a mutant dog and turtle. Body: Seeing as though many people listed movies that are decades old, I could understand why they'd be weird since they're from a different time era. However, I have to admit that the bulk of the movies I watched are mostly from after the '80s... So my movies might pale in comparison to a lot of the movies given here since they're more recent... but I just have two that I would classify as really weird: The Cell (2000) This movie was odd and randomly creepy. The bulk of the movie was pretty entertaining in the appropriate Jones’ fashion, but perhaps the movie appeared better than it really was because of the favorable nostalgia behind the movie series. I think it’s even safe to say that the series is a classic. One thing to note: why do a lot of adventure movies tend to end the movie with something imploding or self-destructing (e.g. temple, pyramid, underground tomb, etc.)? Maybe the directors or story writers are cryptically proving a point — all truth/past will be hidden/reburied. Or maybe, it’s simply an ending fitted for suspenseful scenes. Either way, most people won’t care about the imploding building ending as long as Indy is alive with his famous hat.

Or maybe falling head over heels for someone who you think is the one, but someone who you -- for some reason -- struggle to hide your feelings from? Well, this movie represents those feelings, except in this case, your friends are tying the knot while you are still single with 27 bridesmaid dresses (maybe it doesn't literally apply to the guys though). Oh and that guy you thought was your soulmate, well, he ends up falling for your sister and then they want a wedding that you have to plan. Not to mention, this pesky, annoying person who keeps trying to betray you at first, but then of course gets to know you and "loves" you all of a sudden. Yeah, life is sort of like that, right? Overall, 27 Dresses pretty much explains that life doesn't always turn out as you expected it to be and that love doesn't necessarily have fairytale beginnings, but it can have the same happy ending. For the most part, I'm indifferent to this movie. However, I thought it was cute if you like seeing the "underdogs" make it to their happy ending. Of course, a happy ending is the specialty of romantic comedies, so that much is to be expected.

Body: I liked this movie. For a horror movie, I thought it wasn't too bad. Maybe it's just me, but I find that a lot of horror movies have really weak story lines and have a great potential for switching to the gore aspect. 1408 is more of a pyschological thriller and is not overly gruesome at all, like most pointless horror flicks are. If you're the type of person that gets bored watching a whole movie take place in the same setting, then this movie is probably not for you. It's more of a story that plays into the creative and imaginary mind, and leave it to Stephen King to harbor that creativity in a dark place. It's a story that indulges in the "what if" and "can it get any worse" concepts in a supernatural sense where there are no limitations. John Cusack has a standout scene in this film, where he is forced to relive the loss of his daughter. I loved his acting in that scene -- pure, raw emotion. He must've been digging deep in that one; incredibly heartfelt. I was not expecting that. Watch the movie if you like a psychological twist in stories, paired with a creative plot element.

It moved a little slow for my liking, but what can you really ask for from an unsolved murder mystery. I'm from San Francisco so I knew about the zodiac murders before the film, and I was vaguely aware of the details of the crimes. I think it was a good idea to expose this true story on a national level, but the movie didn't seem to reveal anything much. It basically seemed like one of those movies that build up a story (leading you to believe that the story is going to peak somewhere, but instead it doesn't really happen). Then, the ending seems somewhat more anti-climatic than anything else.
