If you are a member of this group, you love everything about the Super Bowl of movies, especially the movies themselves! You love to make predictions, guess at the politics, discuss and dissect who should have been nominated and who should have won...or, you're just an avid movie lover that likes to pay attention. Group Name: Movies we do not want to see - Try to convince us to see these movies!
Group Description: Want to be a member? Send me a message with a list of at least 5 movies that you do not want to see.

There are many movies that I do not want to see. I'm not sure if its right of me to decide never to see a movie without seeing it. You know...like when a kid says they hate mushrooms even though they admit never trying them. So maybe this is a good spot for people to display movies they don't think they want to see, and see if anyone can convince us to try them out.
Body: Noddy I am taking up the challenge Here is an all Aussie recast let me know your Aussie version. Batman- Hugh Jackman Joker - Russel Crowe Rachel Dawes - Rose Byrne Harvey Dent - Guy Pierce Lucius Fox - Geoffry Rush Alfred - Barry Humphries Gordon - Sam Worthington Future Batman Movies Poison Ivy - Isla Fisher Peguin - Brendan Cowell Riddler - Noah Taylor Catwan- Emily Barclay
well considering this was inspired by Heath Ledger again, I would suggest its only reasonable to make it an all-Australian cast. To start with Batman, for whom I would cas......... .... .... ahhh, forget it.
Body: Watched Australian Drama Love my way. I cried the most in any film particular towards the last scene The most honest film ever made unsure if it is available in the US. but fantastic film here is the synoposis. "One day you wake up and you're in your thirties. How'd that happen? Still semi-broke, still negotiating with you ex about your daughter, still wondering what you're going to do when you grow up. "Frankie is a tempestuous ball of mad life: she colours in for a living at a large daily newspaper. She lives with Tom, a fallen star chef, now a cook at the local rehabilitation hospital. Just down the road in a much nicer house lives Charlie 35, architect, surfer, emotionally stunted and Lou's father. He's also Frank's ex and Tom's brother. Charlie's remarried to Julia, a woman with firm dreams about her life that are about to come true and scare the shit out of her. Love My Way is an exploration of big characters dealing with the deepest human emotions. Love, hate, truth, lies, jealousy and anger. It deals with the randomness of life and the bloody mindedness needed to carve out a place in the world. These people are family by blood and family by proxy - a web of relationships which are pulled and strained by the strongest desires and contradictions of the human heart.
Body: Recently I watched the Painted Veil Trapped in a loveless marriage, a British doctor EDWARD NORTON travels with his unfaithful wife NAOMI WATTS to a remote Chinese village to fight a cholera outbreak .It's a very, very beautiful film and it's a really moving love story, Sexual tension is hightened in this film but still remains romatic . I just melted. When I was pregnant I watched Australian Drama Love my way. I cried the most towards the last film maybe it was the hormones but I lent it to my sister and to my mother and had the same effect on them unsure if it is available in the US. but fantastic film here is the synoposis. Body: I am intrigued just watch the trailer have put it down on my want to see list. Great quote can imagine it was improv by Benigni himself. thanks for bringing this film to my attention.

Favorite prison scene that first jumped to mind was from Down By Law Roberto Benigni's character manages to get the entire wing of that prison to chant "I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice-cream"
I freakin' loved that scene. I think Benigni is flat out one of the funniest people to watch and it was a very bold move for Jarmusch to cast him way back in '86 in an American movie.
Body: Chopper (2000)Lock up presents a mix bag of selection for me first to come to mind is Chopper where Eric Bana plays the iconic small criminal who cuts of his ear in prison. This intense story of Mark 'Chopper' Read, a legendary criminal who wrote his autobiography while serving a murder sentence in prison. He is outlandish exhibits a bizarre fascination for the viewer - he'is the original thug-without-a-conscience, but there are moments when you can't help but admire his rough-and-ready charm underneath an underlying menance. Blood in Blood out. I remember watching first prison rape scene oftern infered in films but never shown this film about Latino comardry in gang life it captures an time in south LA where gang came into popular concious. It had to me a Latin Soap Opera rythm to the film Burt Lancaster in classic prison drama, Birdman of Alcatraz. Had to include this gem for the powerhouse performance of one of the greates actors ahead of his time. Also was named as "The finest 'prison' picture ever made..." said Variety (6/20/62). 25th Hour a film for all reasons mentioned previously but one that is about prison for most part of the film the idea of one last day before your freedom is taken is good question what would you do? What I liked most was the opening scene twin towers just after the tragedy first time I had seen it on film very haunting great film Happy Texas my last pick to end on a uplifting note. This film caused a frantic bidding war at Sundance film festival however it failed at the box office not living up to the hype. I feel it is a great little film and love the last scene set in a prison but joyful experienced created not known in a prison. I had fun with this movie check it out.
Body: All that believe the Joker is a great maverick character must view Heath Ledger in Ned Kelly he takes on Australia’s greatest legend the bush ranger Ned Kelly nothing more iconic in Australia than the image of Ned Kelly in his armour and Heath Ledger's performance once more has cemented his brilliant acting talent's this is a must see. Synoposis provided by Movie Crunch:Heath Ledger stars as Ned Kelly, set in Victoria, Australia in the late 1800s. The movie is based on Robert Drewe’s novel, Our Sunshine, which is based on the real life of Ned Kelly, an Australian bushranger. Supporting cast: Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush, Naomi Watts, Rachel Griffiths, Joel Edgerton. Directed by Gregor Jordan. Released Mar 26, 2004.Ned, his brother and a few friends try to protect Ned’s sister from the romantic advances of a persistent constable, whom she has already shunned. In retaliation, the officer accuses the brothers of horse theft and shoots one of their horses. From there, events keep escalating, eventually to the point where Ned and his brothers kill two officers. Now there’s a price on his head, and anyone who chooses can shoot him on sight then claim the reward. The brothers progress to bank-robbing, then kidnapping out of necessity to protect themselves. To get back at the Kelly “gang”, the authorities give their mother a sentence of three years hard labor, and arrest a hundred men and boys from nearby his home and punish them. None of them turn the Kellys in, though one friend is pressured into betraying them but is later killed. The movie, painful throughout to watch, ends pretty much the only way it could: with Ned’s brother and friends dead (the latter two having shot themselves in the head, rather than be captured by officers). Ned is also hanged at age 25, in 1880, despite a petition of 32,000 signatures. All because a young woman - his sister - shunned a man who was a police officer.</spout:body>

Body: You have done Heath Ledger proud!!. Reservoir Dingos is brilliant and Mick Molly as Peter McDermott is inspired casting. Thanks for waving the Aussie flag. Best recast ever!!! I can just see Vince as the young cop.. thanks for representing I can hear the tune of eagle rock cheers. ************************************************************************************ Ok, I'm a long time listener to Film Spotting and the last episode inspired me to crawl out of my shell, sign up and propose my option. Let's remember that, for whatever reason, this particular movie was chosen as a tribute to Heath Ledger. So I think its fair to make it an an all Aussie affair. Call it Reservoir Dingos if you like. I won't, but you can. I am guessing some of these actors, or their best roles, won't be so well know in the US, but bare with me, I think this is a cracking movie. So here we go. Mr. White - Bryan Brown - in my mind he does his best work in Australian movies with fellow Aussies. Here he needs to play that mentor role he played so damn well with Heath in Two HandsTwo Hands (1999). Mr. Orange - David Wenham - my favorite Aussie actor. So much charisma and I do hope the rest of world get to see the best of him soon. He was fantastic in Gettin Square, but he would probably need to channel his character from The Brush Off or Stiff for this role. Mr. Blonde – Eric Bana – this was a critical casting purely for the cop scene. And for it Bana needs to go back and watch ChopperChopper (2000) That’s the vibe we need here a little bit fun and a whole lot of un-hinged. Nice Guy Eddie – Mick Malloy – ok, the Americans won’t know him. And the Aussies may scoff. But I reckon his scheming show in Crackerjack Crackerjack (2002)showed enough for the producers of this movie to take a bit of a risk with him. It’d be his breakthrough performance.<!--[if !supportLineBreakNewLine]--> Mr. Pink - Ben Mendelsohn – A Quentin Tarantino-esque casting in a hope to revive a flagging career. And for this we need the Mendelsohn of Idiot Box Idiot Box (1996)fame. The slimey know it all is right up Ben’s alley. Joe Cabot – Jack Thompson – pick any role from an Aussie movie. The man is an icon and I’d probably have to go back to Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence for my favorite. The key is chemistry here though and I reckon he’d have it with Brown (as Mr White) and Malloy (as Nice Guy Eddie) in spades Mr. Brown – Paul McDermott – I’m sorry everyone outside America. You won’t know this one. And it’s a real left field casting. But as you would imagine, with the role originally being played by the screenwriter of the movie, this character has the best lines. As such I wanted to go with a sharp-tongued comedian able to deliver the dialogue in a natural style. Thus McDermott. And look at him. He looks threatening enough to play a crook. Mr. Blue – John Jarrat – a minor role in reality, but one of assured certainty. And one that the Wolf Creek (2004)Wolf Creek star would eat up. Young Cop (gets ear cut off) – Vince Colosimo – only because “the scene” would be a fantastic follow up from his run ins with Bana as Neville Bartos in ChopperChopper (2000). K-Billy DJ – another for the Aussies, and Aussies alone. The velvet tongued John Laws. And for the extra points for a new ear chopping tune? Gotto stick with a classic Aussie song – Eagle Rock, by Daddy Cool. I can see Bana now just digging that song and loving that scene. Sorry for the indulgence.
SynopsisThe story of Chopper is not as compelling as the performance in the movie of Eric Bana, the actor who portrays thr notorious criminal.Chopper is extremely, blackly humorous but throughout there's an undercurrent of menace, since you absolutely can't predict what's going to come next. At times the action is bloody and violent, so much so that were it not for the kernel of truth within you wouldn't accept it, but here such episodes are essential. Each act of naive insanity merely broadens your feel for Chopper's dangerous charisma, both repellent and attractive
Body: If you saw Dark Knight and want to see many more memorable performances by Heath Ledger. Check the actor back catelogue films he has done in Australia the last performance he did was in 2007 independent Australian film “Candy,” Synospis: It’s a confronting film because it deals with a drug-addicted love story but like all love stories it starts out happily enough but then it becomes a confronting poetic moving journey. There is such veracity in the film, partly because of its design and largely because of the performances. Heath Ledger is once again outstanding. You understand from his performance just how much you lose of yourself when you’re in the grip of addiction
Body: Lantana never ceases to be interesting. Based on Andrew Bovell's play "Speaking in Tongues", this Australian box office hit drama follows a number of people who become intertwined in a labyrinth of love, sex and deceit and amazing ramifications. This film is a pure cinematic delight great characters. I hope you get time to view it. Film synopsis: A woman disappears. Four marriages are drawn into a tangled web of love, deceit, sex and death. Not all of them will survive. LANTANA is a psychological drama about love, infidelity and mistrust. It's about the mistakes we make, the consequences we suffer and the attempts we make to fix things up.
