Body: Was watching Dazed and Confused a couple of weeks ago and have to say I think it is one of the best rock soundtracks around. Classic 70's tunes that just cause your head to bob back and forth with the beat. The Crow: City of angles also had a really killer soundtrack, even though the film itself blew chunks....but what other great films had a "rawkin" soundtrack to it?
Body: I was watching a music video based podcast (vidcast?) the other day and realized that there really isn’t a better place to watch music videos than online. YouTube seems to have a great number of music videos waiting to be discovered. It’s great because you don’t have to put up with all the MTV crap-ola that goes around and now in, videos plus you get the added benefit of being able to search for the artists and songs you want to see and they are always available. So there’s no more sitting around waiting for the commercial break to be over just to see the new video from so-and-so. So on that thought, it got me thinking back to some of my favorite videos from back in the day were: Korn – BlindNIN – The Perfect DrugWhite Zombie – More Human than HumanMetallica - And Justice for AllGNR – November Rain
Body: I was looking through the lists of films for Metal and Rock and noticed that Alice in Chains was in both list. So I was wondering what other people use as a short list of "criteria" to make the distinction between the Metal and Rock genres. In their own wrights they are both rather different, but at the same time are very close. Metallica could be designated as metal as well as rock...maybe more metal in their early years but more rock'ish in their later years. I wouldn’t really classify Alice in Chains as a metal group due to the lack of crunchy guitars and rougher vocals…but someone like Slipknot is distinctly metal. What are your thoughts?
Body: Worst Moive Ever - Excellent list! Without a doubt this is the most inane piece of drivel I have ever seen. The first time I tried to watch this gem I fell asleep (and typically I can't buy a nap). Of course I had to give such an excellent ensemble, and Terry Gilliam (director), the benefit of the doubt and watch a second time. I made it through - but just barely; this film is torture! And that is from a Hunter Thomspon\gonzo journalism fan. I really wanted to like this, but it was horrible.
Body: There really isn't anything "good" to say about this movie. Ultraviolet iss 88 minutes of semi-decent CGI with a semi-good looking lead character....other than those two points it was absolute crap. The flick came out around the same time as Aeon Flux, and I really think it was just thrown together quickly to try and complete due to their similar themes and look and feel...but the difference was that Aeon Flux was actually entertaining.
Body: So there has been a little debate in the office here for some time now about this movie. I believe this is the worst movie ever and Mike thinks this is the best movie ever. I would like to take a vote to see how many of you actually liked this movie vs. how many people hated this movie. Let the voting begin!
Body: Ive been to quite a few pretty loud concerts - including Metallica (3 times), Black Label Society, Mastadon, Mudvayne, Deftones, POD. However, the loudest act I've ever been to had to have been Rob Zombie at the orbit room in GR. Normally my ears ring into the day after the concert, but after that one, my hearing was going in and out and ringing for 2 months straight. Great show though.
