Group Name: Movies we do not want to see - Try to convince us to see these movies!
Group Description: Want to be a member? Send me a message with a list of at least 5 movies that you do not want to see.

There are many movies that I do not want to see. I'm not sure if its right of me to decide never to see a movie without seeing it. You know...like when a kid says they hate mushrooms even though they admit never trying them. So maybe this is a good spot for people to display movies they don't think they want to see, and see if anyone can convince us to try them out.
Body: From the classic Ace Ventura Pet Detective which I think is my second most watch film of all times, comes this beautiful sequence of lines. Enjoy! Ace: Hello I'm looking for Ray Finkle. classic pump shotgun is racked "csh csh" Ace: ...and a clean pair of shorts. Mr. Finkle: (old man deep voice) What do you know about Ray Finkle? Ace: (large gasp for air) Soccer style kicker graduated from Cauler high June 1976, Stetson University honors graduate class of 1980, holds 2 NCAA division 1 records one for most points in a season, one for distance, former nickname "The Mule," The first and only pro athlete to come out of Cauler County and one hell of a model American. Mr. Finkle: Are you another one of those "Hard Copy" guys? Ace: (with tears in his eyes) No Sir, I'm just a very big Finkle fan, This is my Graceland.
Body: I was looking through the lists of films for Metal and Rock and noticed that Alice in Chains was in both list. So I was wondering what other people use as a short list of "criteria" to make the distinction between the Metal and Rock genres. In their own wrights they are both rather different, but at the same time are very close. Metallica could be designated as metal as well as rock...maybe more metal in their early years but more rock'ish in their later years. I wouldn’t really classify Alice in Chains as a metal group due to the lack of crunchy guitars and rougher vocals…but someone like Slipknot is distinctly metal. What are your thoughts?
Body: Obviously, the reason that the X-Men movies are listed several times over in this group is the fantasy of gaining a superpower. The movies explore the downsides rather thoroughly: the prejudice and outsider feelings one might have to find they are different. Let's ignore the serious side for a moment, because part of the appeal, of course, is "wouldn't that be cool if...?" So, which X-Men character would you be? I always liked Storm, of course, even though Halle Berry makes me cringe (anyone else think she's overrated in general?). I think I would most like to be Jean Grey though without the harsh Phoenix side. I would NOT want to be Rogue. What a completely useless power that completely separates her from not only humans but also other mutants. Her power sucks. Which one would you like to be?
Body: Ive been to quite a few pretty loud concerts - including Metallica (3 times), Black Label Society, Mastadon, Mudvayne, Deftones, POD. However, the loudest act I've ever been to had to have been Rob Zombie at the orbit room in GR. Normally my ears ring into the day after the concert, but after that one, my hearing was going in and out and ringing for 2 months straight. Great show though.
Body: Ok, I saw this movie in the late 1980's (maybe 1989). This movie has the worst editing I have ever seen. There is a scene in it (at least there was when I watched it) where the kid in the wheelchair is chasing the guy through the woods and you can see the microphone up in the top right corner of the screen. I just thought this was funny and we have come a long way since 1985 in our film making! Anyone else remember bad editing in films?
Body: Hello all, just wanted to get an opinion on this. I was thinking back to when I first saw The Ring the other day, and how I thought it was such a scary movie. I watched it again and was not scared in the least bit. It then dawned on me that every 'scary' scene in that movie comes at you fast and unexpected with a loud noise. So, when I was freaked out during the movie the first time I saw it, it was only due to the 'startling' effect that the 'scary' scenes had. The scene where they show the dead dirl in the closet at the beginning is a good example of this. Always with a loud noise in the background. Any other opinions out there?
Body: Is the restaurant in Office Space a parody of TGI Friday's and Applebees? What do you think? I have no desire EVER to eat there, much less be an employee. I'm sure it's a quantity, quantity place with no concern for local foodways, sustainable agriculture, or tradition.
Body: Hi everyone, Well its been a while since we have done anything in this group. Last night I was out with a few friends and we were discussing horror movies and that turned into a conversation about ghost stories. Quite a few of the people we were with had some really good store to share. I thought since this is the horror house it would be a good place to start a conversation like that. So here is my "encounter": About 7 years ago I bought the house I am currently living in. One day I was getting ready to go to work and I could not find my keys to my car. I looked everywhere and finally gave up and used my spare set. For days after that I looked for them. One day I got up and decided to have some cereal. I poured the cereal in the bowl and thought the box felt a little heavy. Sure enough, there were my keys at the bottom of the box. Was it a ghost? Or do you think I did it in my sleep? Lets hear your stories...
Body: For me the most memorable moment in any CG film is the car chase in Toy Story 1. When they used the little remote controlled car and a bottle rocket to get back in the car as they were being chased. I kept me on the edge of my seat and was animated fantastically. Whats yours?
Body: (mild spoilers. proceed at your own risk!) alrighty. so i finished watching the new episode (2-11) of the second session of season two. it was interesting. I loved the introduction of the "Resurrection ship." Wasn't expecting that. But what i want to talk about isnt so much the plot or the events of this particular episode, but rather the "direction" that the show is going. Is it me, or are the writers trying REALLY hard to get the viewer to sympathize with cylons? Isn't that weird, that we're all starting to hate Admiral Cain for her aggressive hatred of cylons and appreciate Adama's apology to the cylon Sharon that they have in the brig? The attempted "rape" scene in the first half of the season was an ugly display of humanity, but you have to ask yourself - "is it possible to 'rape' a machine?" Wow..that sounds really gross. Moving on. And the show also tried to make us feel sorry for the cylon that they fed to the airlock. Come on! They're frackin' machines! They are robots. Toasters. The more I watch the show, the more I realize that I'm forgetting that the cylons are the enemy. And I'm starting to feel sorry for some of them? What? That would be like the Jews feeling bad for Nazi's. "Sure you tried to eliminate our entire race, but it's o.k. cause i realize now that you have feelings too." No way. The cylons should be terminated, down to the very last one. They obliterated the original colonies (billions dead, btw) , leaving only a handful of stragglers that fled to the safety of space. So I don't hate Cain for her hatred of cylons. I don't appreciate what she did to the civilian ships and their families and she'll hopefully fry for that. But you can't blame her for terminating a few toasters. Sure the cylons are made up of biological parts and now have the appearance of a "humanoid." We didnt feel so bad for them, when they were the older "tin-can" model. Now they're 'almost' human. But in the end they're 100% evil. I don't feel sorry for them just because they have a state of biological existence. So do chickens and I eat them.
