Group Name: It's a Wonderful Night for Oscar! - Devoted to everything nominated or snubbed by the Academy of Golden Guys
Group Description: Year after year, movie lovers and non movie lovers alike discuss ad nauseum the fate of films nominated for the utmost honor, the Academy Award. Some people watch it for the fashion. Some people watch for the haute couture. Some people watch for their fill of celebrity sightings.

If you are a member of this group, you love everything about the Super Bowl of movies, especially the movies themselves! You love to make predictions, guess at the politics, discuss and dissect who should have been nominated and who should have won...or, you're just an avid movie lover that likes to pay attention. Come join the group!
Group Name: B Movies - B is for better
Group Description:
B movies are like the original Not Ready for Primetime Players--funny, brave, brainless, learned, rowdy, rough, ribald, and dangerous.

B movies can be like a seven dollar bottle of champagne, miles away from the real thing but every bit as fun. (Semi-Pro)

They can be like absinthe, so bizarre you wonder if you're actually enjoying yourself. Nobody else will be able to tell you. (Eraserhead)

They can be like moonshine. Lightning in a bottle, you wonder how the maker captured it, you wonder if they even know how good it is or if they could do it again. (The Night of the Hunter)

They're like surprise hard cider. Something that's been set aside, and then you find it by accident, take a tentative sip, and it knocks you to the floor! (Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women)

They're like straight Yagermeister, the kind with deerblood and mercury in it. An acquired taste that never lets you forget how dangerous it is, and others can't fathom why you're in love with it. (Wicker Man--1974).

Body: My friends and I used to create Top Five lists with a gravity you might see in duellists preparing their sabres for battle. We thought we were the only ones to do so until we saw High Fidelity. So how about a good-natured duel? Off comes the first glove: Recast High Fidelity. And the second glove: What's your favorite Top Five list? Do you have a list like "Top 5 Movies the Coens Must Remake," or "Top 5 Bill Murray Characters," or even "Top 5 Albums to Make Out to"? Prizes for the best recasts and lists. Winners will be announced Friday, Oct. 17. En guarde. John Cusack ... Rob Gordon Iben Hjejle ... Laura Todd Louiso ... Body: I've only been to one or two double features in my life, but they were both great experiences. Even though Kill Bill Vol. 1 was preceded by Payback instead of the original Point Blank! Even though the movies at the drive-in were S.W.A.T. and Bad Boys 2! Some double features I'd pay to see anywhere: 1. Escape From New York, then Doomsday 2. Bucket of Blood, then The Abominable Dr. Phibes 3. The Black Scorpion, then The Mighty Peking Man 4. If You Live, Shoot! then Point Blank 5. Dog Soldiers, then Big Trouble in Little China
Even though Kill Bill Vol. 1 was preceded by Payback instead of the original Point Blank! Even though the movies at the drive-in were S.W.A.T. and Bad Boys 2! Body: Could a remake of Ghostbusters (1984) ever be worth watching? It's especially hard for me to imagine recasting Bill Murray. Bill Murray ... Dr. Peter Venkman Dan Aykroyd ... Dr. Raymond Stantz Harold Ramis ... Dr. Egon Spengler Ernie Hudson ... Winston Zeddmore Sigourney Weaver ... Dana Barrett Rick Moranis ... Louis Tully Annie Potts ... Janine Melnitz William Atherton ... Walter Peck David Margulies ... Mayor Steven Tash ... Male Student Jennifer Runyon ... Female Student Slavitza Jovan ... Gozer Paddi Edwards ... Gozer (voice) (uncredited) Ivan Reitman ... Zuul / Slimer (voice) (uncredited)Slimer may be as hard to replace as Bill is, but if you're inspired to redesign him, insert an image of the 21st Century Slimer for some MAJOR extra credit.
Body: Just a few that come to my mind are, Half Baked, PCU, Orange County... I regularly quote from these and all their cheesey comedic glory. Any other terribly wonderful films anyone?
