Year: 1976
Director: Peter Sykes
Plot: Christopher Lee stars in this weak occult melodrama as Father Michael Rayner, an excommunicated priest who decides to save the world from its decadence by teaming up with Satan. Richard Widmark is on hand as John Verney, out to stop Rayner's satanic rituals and helped along on the path of goodness by friends Anna Fountain (Honor Blackman) and David (Anthony Valentine). Body:

If the evidence of Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween: 25 Years of Terror) isn't enough to prove it, just check out Monique Dupree on MySpace where you may then bask in the Awesome! Linda Blair (SCREAM) and Natassja Kinski (Somebody Is Waiting) are also worth awesomable mention, but Monique Dupree is the Awesome of the Future!
You're a very tricksey hobbit (gollum), mythman... you re-edited your post to make it appear that you mentioned Linda Blair and Nastassja Kinski before I did. But the movie examples you gave are not very good ones... Linda Blair had a very small role in Scream as an obnoxious reporter. Her other noteworthy credits are too many to mention but, aside from The Exorcist films, how about Hell Night , Chained Heat , Savage Streets , Red Heat , Sorceress ... the list goes on ... As for Nastassja, I was thinking more along the lines of Cat People and To The Devil, A Daughter ... As for other examples I could start naming 'scream-queens' who like to take their clothes off like ; Mellisa Moore, Debbie Rochon, Linea Quigley, Brinke Stevens, etc... But one of my ALL TIME favorites would have to be the beautiful and talented Misty Mundae! < GOR >
Sorry I had not accredited you in that edit (though in a later edit, I also gave you the title of 'Doctor' ... kind of like that given a certain time-lord). The movies I mentioned were the latest ones I've heard of for the ladies you mentioned---whose names I ran a search-for here on Spout.com. I'm sure their best performances were given when they were nameless starlets just starting to etch their names into the hearts of male horror fans around the world! (Just like my best performances usually take place in the mirror over the sink!) But my point here is not that anyone-has ever been the greatest, -will ever be the greatest or -is now the greatest that ever will be or ever has been. My point is that Monique Dupree--for better or worse--is awesome in her greatness!
Body: I recently read that To the Devil, a Daughter was the last movie to come out of Englands Hammer Studios. And while I would agree with most critics that this movie lacks the style and flair of most Hammer productions, it has something that no other Hammer film has had before... Nastassja Kinski nude. To put it quite simply, that is worth the price of admission right there. But, aside from Nastassja showing off her lovely body, this is quite a good film in other ways as well. Cristopher Lee is priceless (as he is in ALL of his films) as an insane and evil priest who has abandoned God and chosen to worship Satan instead. He is also the 'godfather' of the young nun, Catherine (Kinski), who has been released from the convent to visit her father - who mysteriously refuses to see her. Instead he sends her to his friend, an American novelist played by Richard Widmark, to look after her. When he leaves Catherine with a couple of his friends while he is researching a story he is writing, they are myseriously murdered in a most brutal fashion and soon other supernatural events begin occuring... This all leads to a final confrontation between Widmark and Lee and the forces of evil in a convoluted ending that doesn't do justice to an otherwise very good movie. This one is recomended for some intense murder scenes and (as mentioned above) the always beautiful Nastassja showing off some of her, um, assets... < GOR >
I was recently in another group where a guy mentioned a preference for 'nun' films (including The Sound Of Music!) ... and I said that if you are going to watch movies about 'nuns', why not watch some good ones like... < GOR > </spout:body>

Body:
OK... I'm sure many of you could see this coming... One of the staples of many great Horror Films has been 'gratuitous female nudity'... So what was the best? There have always been certain 'scream queens' who, it would seem, love to get naked at every opportunity! You can check out every inch of Misty Mundae in several movies like "Screaming Dead". Or Nastassja Kinski in "To The Devil, A Daughter" and others. I would be 'hard' pressed (Iknow...groan) to call "Hard To Die" a 'horror' movie... it is more of a 'gratuitous-female-nudity' movie! You get the idea... I think, for me, the winner would be... "ZOMBIE" ! (this movie just keeps 'popping up' in here... I know... groan again...) I know this is mostly one for the guys, but let me know what you think...
My favorite scene with nudity, although it isn't horror, is in Wild Things. The movie itself was alright. When Denise Richards is topless, all troubles seem to go away.
Body: To the Devil a Daughter is the last of the Hammer Horror films, and one of the least typical. As I learned on the DVD documentary, the studio was in its death throws at the time of its making and was forced to co-produce the film with a German studios at the time of its making. Unlike other Hammer films, this is a certifiable A production-with stars, a less exploitive storyline and more cereral feel. The film was influenced not only by the sucess of Rosemary's Baby and The Exorcist but Hammer's own The Devil Rides Out one of there most critically acclaimed if not commerical succesful production. Both The Devil Ride Out and To the Devil a Daughter are based on novels by Dennis Wheatley and feature Christopher Lee. In this film, Lee plays Father Michael, a priest who has acted as godfather for a young nun, Catherine (Natassja Kinski). When Catherine is sent to visit her father Henry (Denholm Elloit), he mysterously refueses to take her and convinces American mystery novelist John Vernay (Richard Widmark) to look after her, claiming that she is somehow related to Satanists. Although Vernay beleives that Henry is nuts, he agrees because he feels that it might make good material for a new book on Satanism. And that's when weird things begin to happen. For its first hour, the film is genuinley errie and mysterious. The real reasons behind what is happening develop so slowly and beliavbly that we get caught up and the movie exudes an unsettling atmosphere. The acting is all spot on, with Widmark and Kinski as standouts. Where the movie goes wrong in the last act, however, becoming confusing. The ending is even worse, with an anti-climax that is breathtaking in its banality. I am not alone in these feelings- the DVD revealed that script was incomplete and the ending rushed resulting in an exploitive sequence inserted for shock value. Christopher Lee calls the end "disgusting" and states that he was very dissapointed with the final film, although, like me, he approved of the beginning. This is doubly dissapointing because the movie could have been a genuine horror classic if they had only found an acceptable ending. Still, the movie is very worthwhile, a fitting way for the studio to go out. To the Devil, a Daughter (1976)
