Title: Kashimashi Girl Meets Girl [Anime Series]
Year: 2005
Plot: The sensitive and effeminate Hazumu loves growing and caring for flowers and herbs, so when his heart is broken by the girl he adores, he goes off into the hills surrounding his town, hoping to feel better. Unfortunately, this puts Hazumu in the wrong place at the wrong time, and an alien space ship crashes into him and kills him. The alien visitor, very sorry for accidentally killing an earthling, uses his superior technology to bring the lad back to life, but with just one change: now he's a she! This puts quite a strain on Hazumu's relationships. Her best friend Asuta is suddenly attracted to her, and her female friend Tomari, who was once smitten with Hazumu, is now understandably confused. Running the gamut from silly to sexy to surprisingly touching, Kashimashi Girl Meets Girl definitely straddles many lines. ~ Cammila Albertson, All Movie Guide
Body: You could check out our group's lists. They are divided into different genres and have a lot of anime in them, so they would probably be very helpful to you. As for my personal recommendations, my favorite titles include Fullmetal Alchemist, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Ouran High School Host Club, Wolf's Rain, The Irresponsible Captain Tylor, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Mushi-shi, and Kashi-mashi. I would also recommend watching any of Studio Ghibli's films. I can make many more recommendations if you'd like, thought I'd just give you a few to start you off though. :)
Body: One anime that I really love is Kashimashi. It's about a boy who accidently gets killed by some aliens when their space craft malfunctions and crashes on Earth. Luckily they are able to bring him back to life. The only problem? They bring him back as a girl! Of course tons of drama and hilarity then ensues. So, does anyone else know of some good gender-switching anime? Either male to female or female to male, I don't care. I just want to see more of this rare genre.
