Body: The whodunit appears to have morphed into about 30 or 40 different police procedurals on TV. Between the million CSI and Law & Order variants, you could find yourself watching a whodunit for just about every waking hour of the week. In terms of movies, you've hit most of the ones that immediately jump to mind. A couple of others: The Name of the Rose - I haven't seen this in years, so maybe it doesn't hold up, but this adaptation of an Umberto Eco novel was pretty good. The Usual Suspects - Perhaps not a pure whodunit, I think this still works Seven - Again, probably not a pure whodunit, but it kinda works A lot of slasher movies could arguably be whodunits. My Bloody Valentine and Sleepaway Camp spring immediately to mind (heck, even Friday the 13th Part V might work, though it's pretty inept).

Body: We know you can hardly wait until My Bloody Valentine decide to come back, but at least the tacky My Bloody Valentine 3D comes out in two weeks! (Send your friend a “bloody valentine” over the Internet! Or, you know, don’t.) Luckily, this clip from the 3D “masterpiece” that detail just how subtle and scary a remake of an underrated 80s slasher can be–especially in 3D! The original story involves a crazed, cannibalistic miner who raped a bunch of trapped mine victims (we’re betting this is tweaked in the new release) and who threatens to repeat his carnage if the town ever has another Valentine’s Day celebration. And yes, the original is only meant for those with a soft spot for crap/hack/slash films that have an unwarranted taboo–i.e. “9 minutes too graphic for the MPAA!” Luckily we’ll get plenty of useless 3D shock scares in this needless remake, and see another clip at MTV. To be fair, that trailer promised flames bursting into a theater and a miner’s flashlight illuminating us. Then again, we are very confident that this will explode at the box office. Or implode. Of course this leads to some rather creative and inventive and gruesome ways to dispatch a person... I liked this movie a lot back in the day and I still like it a lot today. Of course this instantly reminded me of another "cult-horror-jump-on-the-bandwagon-holliday-slasher-flick" called April Fools Day . This one was recently remade and I have yet to see that one as well. Back to the remake version of My Bloody Valentine , This movie looks promising to me mostly because I would like to check out this new 3-D technology that everybody has been ranting and raving about... my curiosity is piqued... < GOR > [/quote] I usally never go to the movies lately, becasue where I live anything that hits the theaters is plain awful! I got talked into seeing Saw 5, which I hated. They showed the previews to My bloody Valentine 3-D and my curiosity got the best of me. I know if it comes up here I will go and see it!! As for April Fools, I didnt see it, I have a hard time with remakes. I was on BD Horror and they had there list of worst horror films of 2008 and April Fools was number 1.
